Automation & AI Workflow Specialist

Role Overview

We’re looking for an Automation & AI Workflow Specialist to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve business automations and AI-powered workflows. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with n8n and Zapier, strong troubleshooting skills, and a basic development background in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm EST with one hour of unpaid break

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve n8n workflows and Zapier automations
• Investigate workflow failures using logs, payloads, credentials, mappings, and execution history
• Build and maintain integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, API keys, retries, pagination, and rate-limit handling
• Support Google Workspace automations across Sheets, Docs, Drive, Forms, Gmail, Calendar, and Apps Script
• Develop and improve AI-powered workflows, including prompts, structured outputs, validation, evaluation, and fallback processes
• Maintain lightweight scripts and backend services using Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Document workflows, create runbooks, and maintain clear change and incident notes
• Take automation requests from initial clarification through implementation, testing, documentation, and handoff
• Communicate risks early and escalate complex issues with clear supporting information

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience, including employment, freelance, or substantial production projects
• Strong hands-on experience with Zapier and n8n
• Systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic development skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with SQL, Postgres/Supabase, cloud services, and Docker
• Experience building or improving AI workflows
• Strong ownership, documentation, and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Able to provide at least 5 hours of daily overlap with Toronto Eastern Time

Nice to Have

Experience with Supabase/Postgres, Google Cloud/Cloud Run, Docker, Klaviyo, Shopify, or other business and marketing platforms.
