Supply Chain Planner & Buyer

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planner & Buyer to join a growing international supply chain team.

This is a hands-on role combining demand and inventory planning, purchasing, supplier management, and inbound logistics coordination. You will take ownership of the purchasing and replenishment cycle, ensuring products are available when needed while maintaining healthy inventory levels and minimizing stock-outs, excess inventory, and supply chain disruptions.

Working across French and international suppliers, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Warehousing, Logistics, and other internal teams to ensure that customer and business requirements are met efficiently and on time.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving operational problems, managing suppliers, and taking ownership of the end-to-end supply process.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Planning & Demand Forecasting

  • Monitor inventory levels, product consumption, sales forecasts, seasonality, and supplier lead times through the ERP system.
  • Identify purchasing requirements and maintain appropriate replenishment parameters.
  • Forecast demand and proactively identify potential stock-outs, excess inventory, and slow-moving products.
  • Adjust purchasing plans based on changes in demand, inventory levels, supplier performance, and business priorities.
  • Support inventory optimization while maintaining agreed product availability and service levels.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to improve working capital and product availability.

Purchasing & Purchase Order Management

  • Create, process, and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers across France, Europe, China, India, Turkey, and other international markets.
  • Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect quantities, negotiated pricing, delivery requirements, and agreed commercial conditions.
  • Obtain and validate supplier confirmations and ensure all purchasing information is accurately recorded in the ERP.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up on outstanding confirmations, production, and delivery dates.
  • Identify purchasing issues and resolve discrepancies relating to pricing, quantities, products, or delivery requirements.

Supplier Management & Expediting

  • Maintain regular communication with French and international suppliers regarding order status, production schedules, lead times, and delivery commitments.
  • Proactively follow up on delayed or at-risk orders and take action before they impact customer commitments or inventory availability.
  • Resolve supplier discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions where required.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with suppliers while maintaining agreed commercial and service expectations.
  • Escalate significant supply risks and provide clear visibility on potential business impact.

Inbound Logistics & Delivery Coordination

  • Track purchase orders from placement through final delivery.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and internal logistics teams to ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Monitor confirmed arrival dates and proactively manage delays or changes.
  • Coordinate deliveries to company depots and, where required, direct-to-customer shipments.
  • Maintain accurate shipment, delivery, and purchase order information within the ERP system.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to understand upcoming demand, customer requirements, and supply priorities.
  • Communicate inventory risks, supply constraints, delays, and expected delivery dates clearly and proactively.
  • Provide purchasing and inventory insights to support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce delays, and increase supply chain efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable supply chain processes as the business continues to grow.

Key Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Product availability and service levels
  • Reduction in stock-outs
  • Reduction in excess and slow-moving inventory
  • Forecast and purchasing accuracy
  • Supplier delivery performance and schedule adherence
  • Purchase order accuracy
  • Lead-time and delivery performance
  • ERP data accuracy
  • On-time inbound deliveries

  • Hands-on experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, replenishment, and supply planning.
  • Experience working with an ERP system and maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory data.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, purchase orders, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A proactive, organized, and solution-oriented approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with international suppliers and multi-country supply chains.
  • Experience in demand forecasting or supply planning.
  • Experience coordinating international freight and inbound logistics.
  • Experience working with suppliers across Europe and Asia.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, or international environment.
  • Demonstrated success improving inventory availability, reducing stock-outs, or optimizing inventory levels.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a hands-on supply chain professional who combines strong analytical skills with practical purchasing and supplier-management experience.

You are comfortable moving between data analysis and execution. You can analyze inventory levels and forecasts, identify a potential stock-out, determine the appropriate replenishment action, place the purchase order, follow up with the supplier, coordinate delivery, and ensure the ERP reflects the latest information.

You do not wait for supply chain problems to become urgent. You identify risks early, take ownership, communicate proactively, and find practical solutions.

You are highly organized, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment where priorities can change quickly.
