Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, market-savvy Automotive Purchasing & Market Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and identifying profitable vehicles across online car auctions, insurance sales, and secondary markets. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the automotive buy-and-sell industry, deep knowledge of vehicle specs/makes/models, and a sharp eye for profit margins. If you love cars, understand vehicle valuation, and excel at market research, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Sourcing & Scouting: Actively search and monitor online auto auctions, insurance salvage sales, and private car listings to find potential inventory.
• Profitability & Valuation Analysis: Evaluate candidate vehicles to determine resell/salvage value, repair feasibility, and overall profit potential before purchase.
• Market Research & Reporting: Compile comprehensive vehicle data, market trends, and sourcing reports to present actionable buy recommendations to management.
• Inventory Cataloging: Track vehicle specifications, trim levels, conditions, and pricing histories using clear spreadsheets and tracking tools.
• Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with the team to finalize purchasing decisions and keep inventory pipelines updated in real-time.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in the auto industry, specifically in vehicle buy-and-sell, automotive resale, or salvage auction sourcing.
• Strong understanding of vehicle makes, models, parts, trims, and common repair/salvage dynamics.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data quickly and make sound, profit-driven recommendations.
• Fast learner capable of adapting to internal workflows, tracking software, and fast-paced market changes.
