We are looking for an experienced International Accounting Specialist based in Colombia to join a growing UK-based accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting UK or US clients, with strong technical accounting and bookkeeping skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

About the Company:

You will be joining a growing UK-based accounting firm that serves corporate clients across the UK and internationally. The firm provides comprehensive accounting and financial services and values accuracy, transparency, professional development, and long-term working relationships.

Following the successful placement of an existing BruntWork accountant, the client is looking to expand the team with two additional accountants based in Colombia.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 8:00 pm (UK Time), with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week)
• As Colombia does not observe daylight saving time, the agent's local working hours will be:
• 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM COT, with a break, during British Winter Time (GMT)
• 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM COT, with a break, during British Summer Time (BST)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting for UK- or US-based corporate clients
• Process financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
• Use QuickBooks as the primary accounting platform
• Manage client accounts and supporting documentation using Dext and Apron
• Support TaxCal operations, including tax calculations and related compliance activities
• Prepare and maintain financial reports for clients
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and up to date
• Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting matters, queries, and financial information
• Follow applicable accounting standards and client-specific processes
• Identify discrepancies or issues and resolve them in a timely manner
• Adapt to new accounting software, systems, and workflows as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Must be based in Colombia
• Previous experience working with UK or US clients
• Good understanding of UK or US accounting practices and standards
• Experience managing bookkeeping or accounting for international clients
• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification/certification is preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms is an advantage
• Experience with Dext, Apron, TaxCal, or similar accounting/document management tools is a plus
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Comfortable communicating directly with international clients
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Reliable internet connection and professional home-office setup
• Willingness and ability to learn new software and adapt to client-specific processes
