Job Overview:
Our client is looking for a highly dependable and proactive Night Operations & Fleet Support professional to provide overnight operational support for a transportation and fleet management operation. This is a fully remote position that requires someone who can work independently, monitor multiple systems, coordinate with drivers and vendors, and make sound decisions without needing constant supervision. The role requires constant monitoring and immediate availability to ensure drowsy-driving alerts are addressed within 10 minutes, and the appropriate accident response workflow is initiated immediately when needed. The ideal candidate will proactively identify potential issues and address them early before they escalate.
Schedule: Monday to Wednesday, 7 PM to 7 AM Pacific Standard Time (California); Full-time role
Responsibilities:
Overnight Operations & Monitoring:
- Monitor fleet operations continuously throughout the overnight shift.
- Monitor Netradyne and Relay for alerts, violations, route changes, and operational issues.
- Respond to drowsy-driving alerts within 10 minutes of notification.
- Initiate the appropriate accident workflow immediately when an accident occurs.
- Monitor for developing issues and proactively address them before they escalate.
- Handle driver call-outs, driver changes, and other unexpected operational situations.
- Notify the appropriate team of cancelled or rejected routes.
- Assist drivers and dispatchers with on-the-road issues and operational concerns.
Daily Administrative & Fleet Tasks:
- Post a short safety tip in Discord (500 characters or less).
- Review post-trip forms and communicate new issues or important fleet status updates in the admin chat.
- Communicate regarding tractor availability for PMs and inspections.
- Check Netradyne status and review violations.
- Review the Second Job Hours form.
- Contact repair facilities and service providers for updated truck repair statuses.
- Check Relay and provide daily repair/status updates.
- Update the driver scheduler with changes and relevant notes.
- Review and correct HOS violations when possible.
- Assign unassigned drive time through Relay.
- Coach drivers regarding Netradyne violations when required.
- Post driver timings and tractor assignments.
- Monitor Relay for operational changes and potential issues.
- Provide weather-related information or screenshots in the admin chat when weather may impact routes or operations.
- Post Netradyne scores in the appropriate Discord scorecard section.
- Maintain driver disciplinary issue lists for write-ups.
- Populate and maintain the pass-down sheet.
Driver & Dispatch Support:
- Assist drivers and dispatchers in resolving issues independently.
- Coordinate responses to mechanical breakdowns and repairs.
- Proactively assist with HOS, traffic, route, and other operational issues.
- Coordinate hotel accommodations when necessary.
- Assist with accident procedures and ensure the appropriate workflow is followed.
- Make appropriate decisions based on established policies and procedures without requiring constant escalation to upper management.
- Document repairs and coordinate for reimbursement.
Loads & Scheduling:
- Find and book loads through the load board/Post-a-Truck.
- Utilize the driver standby list to fill available trips.
- Handle driver substitutions and schedule changes.
- Update driver schedules and maintain accurate operational records.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Download all blocks and place them into the driver weekly block schedule before assigning drivers.
- Prepare and publish the weekly driver schedule by Friday afternoon, typically by 5:00 PM or earlier.
- Create and maintain the driver standby list.
- Prepare and post the weekly Netradyne score.
- Ensure all scheduling information and driver assignments are accurate and up to date.
Monthly Responsibilities:
- Download and input on-time scores, completion lists, and Netradyne scores into the driver scheduler.
- Post the required monthly scorecard information in Discord.
- Maintain accurate driver performance and operational records.
Requirements:
- High-level English proficiency, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly with drivers, dispatchers, vendors, and management.
- Excellent judgment and independent problem-solving skills to resolve issues aligned with established policies.
- High degree of technology fluency, comfortable working remotely using multiple systems, applications, and spreadsheets.
- Fast learner capable of retaining training and applying instructions independently with minimal repetition.
- Highly reliable and responsive to maintain active monitoring throughout a 12-hour shift and respond to critical alerts within 10 minutes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, dispatch, trucking, or operations support.
- Experience working with driver scheduling or dispatch systems.
- Experience with Netradyne, Relay, load boards, or similar transportation technology.
- Experience handling safety incidents, accidents, roadside issues, or driver emergencies.
- Previous experience working independently on an overnight or graveyard shift.
- Experience with remote operations and monitoring-based roles.
