ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a prominent strategy consultancy specializing in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors. The firm delivers high-impact, data-driven solutions in commercial strategy, product launch preparedness, and strategic brand planning. Working within this fast-paced environment allows ambitious professionals to directly influence senior-level client deliverables, collaborate with experienced project leads, and build specialized strategic expertise.
This remote opportunity is ideal for a proactive Junior Strategy Consultant looking to step in and immediately support active client engagements. You will join an integrated, highly collaborative team environment that values analytical rigor, clear communication, and open problem-solving without micromanagement.
The initial engagement is structured as a full-time contract for approximately 12 weeks, with strong potential to transition into a rolling retainer across secondary projects. You will gain direct exposure to pharmaceutical commercial strategy, working closely with senior team members on high-value client workstreams.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Junior Strategy Consultant, you will split your capacity across two core strategic project streams. You will support the team in updating a market launch preparedness assessment model and assist in executing an 11-week, multi-sprint strategic brand planning project. Your primary focus will be collecting data from team-led stakeholder interviews, consolidating cross-functional inputs into standardized templates, building and refining Excel assessment tools, and producing polished, consulting-grade PowerPoint deliverables.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Support team-led stakeholder interviews across launch preparedness workstreams by handling pre-interview prep, note-taking, and synthesis of findings.
- Under senior team direction, help update, build, and test structured Excel-based market assessment models.
- Consolidate multi-source inputs from functional client teams into standard templates during brand planning project sprints.
- Identify key strategic themes, gaps, and implications from consolidated stakeholder data.
- Structure, draft, and refine executive-ready PowerPoint decks and presentation slides.
- Prepare materials, alignment content, and syntheses to support cross-functional client workshops.
- Conduct secondary desk research and qualitative/quantitative analysis as project needs dictate.
- Assist with research and background analysis across ongoing consulting engagements during project downtime.
- Maintain transparent, proactive communication with project leads to ensure high-quality delivery within tight sprint timelines.
KPI EXPECTATIONS
- Deliver accurate, high-quality analysis and presentation decks within defined sprint deadlines.
- Effectively synthesize inputs from multiple functional sources into structured consulting templates with minimal rework.
- Produce clean, reliable Excel models and polished PowerPoint slides adhering to firm standards.
- Demonstrate proactive communication, asking clarifying questions early to ensure complete task alignment.
- Function as a seamless, reliable remote team member across concurrent project workstreams.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in management/strategy consulting, pharmaceutical/biotech, market research, or an equivalent analytical setting.
- Solid background in business, economics, life sciences, or a relevant scientific discipline.
- Proven experience conducting research, consolidating complex qualitative inputs, and organizing data logically.
- Practical consulting experience building and refining Excel models and structuring PowerPoint slides.
- Ability to quickly grasp basic pharmaceutical commercial terminology and strategy concepts.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills with high credibility in team environments.
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills when working against tight project deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setup while maintaining high collaboration and transparency.
NICE TO HAVE
- Previous project experience within pharmaceutical or life sciences strategy consulting.
- Prior exposure to brand planning, commercial strategy, or launch preparedness frameworks.
- Experience capturing, structuring, and synthesizing outputs from stakeholder interviews.
- Familiarity with build processes for quantitative assessment tools or market models.
WHO YOU ARE
- Proactive, intellectually curious, and enthusiastic about strategic problem-solving.
- A strong communicator who seeks early clarification rather than making unverified assumptions.
- Highly reliable, organized, and capable of managing deliverables across multiple active workstreams.
- Collaborative, open to constructive feedback, and motivated to integrate smoothly into remote consulting teams.
- Self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of tasks without requiring continuous hands-on oversight.
