Lead Full Stack Developer

Job Overview

A fast-growing music tech platform is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to drive technical execution and infrastructure scaling for its web-based SaaS product. Working directly with leadership, you will guide engineering efforts, translate product requirements into clear sprint tasks, and manage global development teams. You will also write clean code and optimize core cloud architecture across Node.js, Next.js, Nuxt.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Stripe, and SendGrid. This full-time remote role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader skilled in remote team management and scalable system design.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, flexible within client business hours PST (40 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership: Lead cross-functional development teams and contractors across global time zones to deliver technical roadmap items on schedule.
  • Sprint & Task Planning: Translate high-level product requirements into actionable technical tasks, architecture designs, and sprint milestones.
  • Full-Stack Development: Oversee and write clean, maintainable, and secure frontend and backend code across the core technology stack.
  • APIs & Cloud Infrastructure: Monitor and optimize API integrations, payment processing (Stripe), transactional messaging (SendGrid), and cloud architecture on AWS.
  • Code Quality & Deployment: Enforce best practices for Git version control, automated testing, quality assurance (QA), and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Architecture Strategy: Partner directly with leadership to identify and eliminate technical debt, scale system capacity, and resolve platform vulnerabilities.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience managing technical teams and building web-based software platforms.
  • Technical Mastery: Proven hands-on proficiency across Node.js (Express), Next.js, Nuxt.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Stripe API, and SendGrid API.
  • Leadership & Process: Strong track record in remote team management, sprint planning, ticket management, and clear technical documentation.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and spoken English, comfortable articulating complex technical trade-offs to business stakeholders.
  • Schedule: Dedicated daily working overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST).
  • Bonus Points: Background in music production, audio engineering, or music technology platforms.
