Job Description

You will take ownership of financial record-keeping and bookkeeping functions while providing operational accounting support that directly contributes to business growth and project profitability. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in construction or project-based financial environments.

You will assist with reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, project budget tracking, and financial reporting while maintaining organised accounting documentation. The role requires someone who is proactive, highly organised, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong financial accuracy.


Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Record Management

  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure complete financial accuracy
  • Maintain organised and updated accounting records and documentation
  • Support monthly financial close processes and reporting cycles
  • Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and categorised

Accounts Payable & Receivable Support

  • Assist with vendor invoice verification and subcontractor billing review against project documentation
  • Support AP and AR processing including invoice entry and payment tracking
  • Monitor payment schedules and maintain accurate vendor and client financial records
  • Support follow-up activities related to outstanding invoices or billing discrepancies

Project Financial Tracking & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring construction project budgets and cost tracking reports
  • Support financial performance monitoring across multiple projects
  • Generate financial reports including Profit & Loss statements and expense tracking summaries
  • Assist leadership with financial insights to support project decision-making

Operational Accounting Support

  • Support financial workflow improvements and accounting system organisation
  • Maintain structured financial filing and data tracking systems
  • Assist with financial data validation to maintain 100% data integrity
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams to ensure financial alignment

Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping or accounting assistant experience within construction, real estate, or project-based environments
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial tracking, reporting, and data organisation
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain high levels of financial accuracy
  • Highly organised with ability to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously
  • Self-starter with proactive mindset and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to manage deadlines and financial reporting cycles in a fast-paced environment

Highly Regarded Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with construction job costing or project-based accounting
  • Familiarity with subcontractor billing and vendor payment verification
  • Experience supporting real estate development or property management operations
  • Experience improving accounting workflows and financial tracking systems
