Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Xero Bookkeeper to own the financial reconciliation and accounts receivable process for a multi-market fashion business with complex wholesale and dropship partnerships. This role goes beyond standard bookkeeping — you'll be the financial detective ensuring every payment is tracked, every account is reconciled, and nothing slips through the cracks across US and Australian operations.

Client Overview

Our client is a growing fashion brand operating across both US and Australian markets, with a strong wholesale presence through major retailers like Free People, Anthropologie, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's. The business runs a lean, fully remote team and is in an active growth phase, with operations managed through 3PL partners in both countries and supported by modern cloud-based accounting systems.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Flexible within Australian business hours, AEST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Reconcile weekly sales and payments across wholesale accounts including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Free People, and Anthropologie.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable for US and Australian operations.
• Follow up directly with wholesale partners when payments are missing or reconciliations don't match.
• Process financial transactions in Xero accounting software.
• Pull and organize data using Odoo API reporting app.
• Run weekly sales reports every Monday with financial analysis.
• Prepare quarterly profit and loss reports and participate in strategic review meetings.
• Review upcoming financial commitments and flag risks or opportunities.
• Handle vendor-funded markdowns and other wholesale-specific payment structures.
• Manage payments for outsourced contractors including accountant, ops manager, and e-commerce assistant.

Requirements

• Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience with strong reconciliation skills.
• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Experience working within Australian business hours and timezone.
• Comfortable working with US and Australian financial operations simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Nordstrom or other major US department stores and understanding their payment processes.
• Familiarity with vendor-funded markdowns and wholesale accounting terminology.
• Experience with Odoo or similar API reporting tools.
• Knowledge of Shopify for understanding e-commerce transaction flow.
• Fashion or apparel industry experience.
