Job Overview

Our Client is looking for a Inventory Accountant for Consumer Packaged Goods, who will own inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS) for a dynamic CPG business with both online and brick-and-mortar operations. This role is designed for a senior-level bookkeeper who can work independently without constant guidance, bringing deep experience in inventory management and CPG accounting. You'll be trusted to maintain accurate records, reconcile complex inventory transactions, and ensure financial integrity across multiple sales channels.

Schedule Remote, Part Time | Monday - Friday, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM Eastern Time (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities:

• Manage all inventory accounting functions including tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
• Calculate and maintain accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) across e-commerce and retail channels
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical stores and online sales platforms
• Prepare monthly inventory reports and financial summaries
• Monitor inventory levels and flag variances or issues proactively
• Ensure accurate product costing and margin analysis
• Maintain organized documentation for all inventory transactions
• Collaborate with operations teams to align physical counts with financial records

Requirements:

• Proven experience in inventory accounting within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry
• Strong understanding of COGS accounting and inventory valuation methods
• Senior-level bookkeeping experience with minimal need for supervision
• Ability to work independently and make sound accounting decisions
• Experience managing inventory across multiple sales channels (e-commerce and retail)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Prior experience working with North American companies is a plus
• Experience with multi-location retail inventory management is a plus
