UI/UX Web Designer & Webflow Specialist

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly creative and experienced UI/UX Web Designer & Webflow Specialist to join our team and provide high-level design and development support across multiple business websites. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong web design, UI/UX, creative thinking, and hands-on development skills. We are not looking for someone who simply works from standard templates. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design and be able to take a brief or existing concept and turn it into a modern, visually impressive, polished, and high-end website experience. You will work alongside our existing Web Developer and take ownership of the design direction and development of new and existing websites, helping improve the overall visual quality, user journey, presentation, and brand experience across the group.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (UK Time, 30 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Web Design & Creative Direction
    • Design modern, high-quality, professional corporate websites from concept through to completion.
    • Translate business requirements and creative briefs into compelling website designs.
    • Develop creative concepts for page layouts, navigation, user journeys, imagery, typography, and overall visual presentation.
    • Identify opportunities to improve existing website designs and user experiences.
    • Bring fresh creative ideas and innovative approaches to website layouts and functionality.
    • Ensure websites are visually consistent with the company's branding and positioning.
    • Review existing websites and recommend improvements to design, usability, structure, and presentation.
  • Webflow Development
    • Design and build responsive websites using Webflow.
    • Convert creative designs and concepts into fully functional, responsive websites.
    • Build and customise pages, layouts, components, animations, interactions, and other Webflow elements.
    • Manage website content, structure, CMS collections, and backend elements within Webflow.
    • Ensure websites work effectively across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
    • Maintain and improve existing Webflow websites as required.
    • Collaborate with the existing Web Developer to ensure smooth implementation and development.
  • Website Projects
    • The successful candidate will initially support and/or take ownership of projects including:
      • CB Group – review the existing website direction, improve the design where appropriate, and continue development.
      • AS Piles – lead the design and development of a new website.
      • CP – provide ongoing creative input, design improvements, and website enhancements.
      • FS Installs – provide design and development support and creative improvements as required.
    • Additional websites and digital projects across the wider group as they arise.
  • Graphic & Marketing Design
    • The role may also involve broader creative work across the businesses. Experience in graphic design will therefore be highly valued. Potential projects include:
      • Company presentations
      • Brochures
      • Capability statements and documents
      • Marketing collateral
      • Branded business documents
      • Digital marketing materials
      • Supporting brand and visual identity development
      • Other creative design projects as required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven professional experience in web design and web development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Webflow.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and building high-quality corporate websites.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and modern web design standards.
  • Excellent eye for visual design, layout, typography, imagery, spacing, and branding.
  • Ability to take a brief and develop a creative concept independently.
  • Experience designing responsive websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Ability to work beyond standard website templates and create customised, visually distinctive experiences.
  • Strong understanding of website structure, navigation, user journeys, and conversion-focused design.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, marketing teams, SEO/PPC agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of visual quality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with some or all of the following would be an advantage:
    • Webflow
    • Figma
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe InDesign
    • UI/UX design
    • Responsive web design

    • Basic JavaScript
    • Web animations and interactions
    • CMS and dynamic content
    • SEO-friendly website design
    • Graphic and marketing design
    • Branding and visual identity

Portfolio Requirement - ESSENTIAL:

Candidates must provide a strong portfolio for review before being considered for an interview. The portfolio should demonstrate the candidate's own work and contribution, rather than simply showing websites or projects they were part of. Candidates should provide 3–4 high-quality examples, preferably including:

  • Websites they personally designed.
  • Websites they personally developed/built.
  • Webflow projects.
  • Current/live websites they are responsible for.
  • Before-and-after examples of website redesigns.
  • Corporate or high-end commercial websites.
  • Brochures, presentations, branding, capability documents, or other creative work where applicable.

The quality of the portfolio will be a key factor in determining whether a candidate progresses to the interview stage.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate is:

  • Highly creative and visually driven.
  • Confident developing designs independently from a brief.
  • Passionate about creating high-quality digital experiences.
  • Comfortable challenging existing designs and suggesting improvements.
  • Able to balance creativity with usability and business objectives.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to producing polished work.
  • Experienced in working with corporate brands and professional businesses.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects from initial concept through development.
  • Able to work collaboratively while also operating independently.

We are specifically looking for someone who can bring strong creative and design capability alongside technical Webflow development skills. This is not intended to be a basic template-based website development role.
