Business Process Manager (ERP)

Job Overview

We are seeking an independent, highly organized Business Process Manager (ERP) to lead the development, implementation, and governance of core operational and financial workflows across two operating entities. In this full-time remote role, you will author functional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), train cross-functional staff, and enforce procedural compliance. Working closely with leadership, the Controller, and the Data Integration Specialist, you will oversee month-end close workflows, multi-entity cost allocations, and process improvement projects. Advanced Excel skills, a solid accounting background, and proven project ownership are required for success.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM CST with 1 hr unpaid break (40 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

  • SOP Development & Administration: Write, control, and update financial and operational SOPs, policies, and forms (billing, A/R, A/P, procurement, labor, and inventory) while maintaining version control in document libraries.
  • Staff Training & Adoption: Build functional training materials, conduct staff training across all organizational levels, and track procedural adoption post-release.
  • Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Audit accounting practices against established SOPs, perform spot checks, identify root causes of process issues, implement corrective actions, and escalate recurring non-conformance.
  • Controller & Close Support: Support the Controller with month-end close procedures, multi-entity accounting (intercompany transactions, cost allocations, consolidated reporting), audit preparation, schedules, and financial statement reviews.
  • Data & Transaction Accuracy: Partner with the Data Integration Specialist to verify billing accuracy, transaction metrics, and inventory/materials management recordkeeping.
  • Process Improvement Project Management: Lead operational improvement projects independently—managing scope, schedules, stakeholder alignment, and execution through full adoption.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical accounting experience.
  • Solid professional background in process management, process improvement, or project management with a proven track record of owning projects from concept to completion.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting, month-end closes, intercompany transactions, and financial statement preparation.
  • Demonstrated capability in authoring, controlling, and implementing formal SOPs, policies, and governance documentation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of ERP systems, accounting software, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint document libraries.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills to train employees and explain financial concepts clearly to technical and non-technical staff.
  • High level of urgency, accuracy, and discretion when handling confidential financial data remotely.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Formal accounting or finance certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, or PMP certification).
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, job-shop, or project-based operational environments.
