Job Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced AU Commercial Credit Analyst to manage commercial asset finance applications through the full credit lifecycle, from initial submission and assessment through approval, documentation, settlement, and post-settlement support when required.
The successful candidate will assess commercial payment plan and equipment finance applications, conduct KYC and due diligence, analyze financial information, identify risks and documentation gaps, and match each application with the most suitable lender based on funder criteria and risk appetite.
This role requires practical experience in the Australian commercial lending market. It is not a consumer credit, collections, fraud disputes, or complaints-handling position. The ideal candidate can work independently with limited foundational training and understands Australian business structures and commercial finance processes.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 6:45 AM to 3:50 PM Manila Time
- One-hour unpaid break
- 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Application Management
- Manage commercial finance applications from receipt through credit assessment, approval, document collection, settlement, and post-settlement support when required.
- Review applications for completeness, accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with internal credit policies.
- Proactively follow up with customers, accredited partners, suppliers, funders, and internal teams to obtain outstanding information and keep applications progressing.
- Maintain fast turnaround times without compromising assessment quality or data accuracy.
Commercial Credit Assessment
- Assess commercial payment plan and equipment finance applications involving business-purpose assets and equipment.
- Analyze commercial credit reports, financial statements, bank statements, cash flow, trading history, existing liabilities, repayment capacity, asset details, and supporting documentation.
- Evaluate business stability, creditworthiness, total exposure, security position, and overall risk profile.
- Understand and assess Australian business structures, including sole traders, partnerships, proprietary limited companies, and trusts.
- Review customer, director, guarantor, supplier, and business information as required.
Lender Matching and Credit Recommendations
- Use lender policies, funder matrices, and risk-appetite criteria to identify the most appropriate funding pathway for each application.
- Prepare clear and concise credit submissions outlining the assessment rationale, identified risks, mitigants, conditions, exceptions, and recommended outcome.
- Recognize when a standard document request may not be relevant and use sound judgment to clarify the purpose or propose an appropriate alternative.
- Escalate complex, higher-risk, or out-of-policy applications with complete analysis and supporting context.
KYC, Due Diligence, and Compliance
- Complete KYC, business verification, identity verification, and applicable due diligence checks.
- Identify adverse credit information, inconsistencies, potential fraud indicators, documentation gaps, and undisclosed risks.
- Support AML/CTF, privacy, internal compliance, and applicable Australian commercial lending requirements.
- Ensure all assessments, decisions, conditions, exceptions, and supporting documents are accurately recorded in the CRM or workflow system.
Stakeholder and Partner Support
- Act as a key credit contact for accredited channel partners, equipment suppliers, customers, funders, and internal stakeholders.
- Explain application requirements, documentation standards, outstanding items, approval conditions, and next steps clearly and professionally.
- Work closely with Credit, Sales, Settlements, and Operations to reduce avoidable delays and support efficient lending outcomes.
- Maintain a proactive, accessible, and solutions-focused approach throughout the application process.
Process Improvement
- Help improve credit workflows, documentation quality, assessment consistency, and turnaround times.
- Identify recurring application issues and recommend practical improvements.
- Contribute to strong portfolio quality and a reliable experience for customers, partners, and funders.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in the Australian commercial lending market.
- Hands-on experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial asset finance, equipment finance, business lending, or lending operations.
- Experience managing applications through the full lifecycle, from submission and assessment through approval and settlement.
- Strong knowledge of Australian business structures, including sole traders, partnerships, proprietary limited companies, and trusts.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret commercial credit reports, financial statements, bank statements, cash flow information, and business documentation.
- Practical understanding of repayment capacity, credit risk, lender policy, risk appetite, security, exposure, and application decisioning.
- Experience conducting KYC, business verification, and due diligence for commercial applicants, directors, and guarantors.
- Experience using a CRM, loan origination platform, or credit workflow management system.
- Strong critical thinking and commercial judgment, with the confidence to question requirements, investigate inconsistencies, and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear credit notes and recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple applications, competing priorities, and time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and follow-through.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working for an Australian commercial lender, asset finance broker, equipment finance provider, or aggregator.
- Familiarity with broker, supplier, channel partner, and funder relationships.
- Experience matching applications against multiple lender policies or funder matrices.
- Exposure to renewable energy, solar equipment, or other business-purpose equipment finance.
- Experience providing post-settlement servicing or operational support.
- A qualification in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
Important Candidate Profile
This position is best suited to someone with direct commercial lending and application-processing experience. Candidates whose experience is primarily in consumer banking, credit card disputes, fraud investigations, collections, customer service, or complaints handling must also demonstrate substantial hands-on commercial credit assessment and full-cycle loan-processing experience.
