Shopify E-Commerce Copywriter

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage product listings on Shopify, including accurate product titles, descriptions, tags, and metadata for high-volume weekly releases
  • Ensure all product details accurately reflect garment styles, sizing, and sibling set configurations to maintain catalog integrity
  • Write compelling, search-optimized product descriptions that resonate with the target audience and drive purchase intent
  • Maintain and update existing product listings to ensure ongoing accuracy and consistency across the entire catalog
  • Support product discoverability by implementing proper tagging and metadata strategies aligned with SEO best practices
  • Manage weekly product releases of approximately 50–60 styles across thousands of pieces
  • Ensure product naming conventions and descriptions align with brand voice and audience expectations
  • Collaborate with the product manager to accurately represent new product lines and collections
  • Contribute to improved search visibility through optimized product content on the Shopify store
  • Maintain quality control standards to reduce the need for corrections and rework

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with Shopify product and catalog management
  • Familiarity with apparel or fashion e-commerce, preferably children's clothing
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft engaging product copy
  • High level of attention to detail, especially when managing large volumes of SKUs
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks with minimal supervision

Nice to have:

  • Bonus if you have experience with SEO keyword research tools to support product content optimisation
  • It helps if you have a background in copywriting or content creation within a retail or e-commerce context
  • Bonus if you have worked with high-SKU catalogs or managed rapid, recurring product release cycles

Our client is looking for a Shopify Product Catalog Specialist to be the engine behind a high-velocity product catalog, owning the end-to-end creation and management of listings on Shopify for a children's apparel brand that drops approximately 50–60 new styles every week. You will craft search-optimised product descriptions that convert browsers into buyers, ensure every listing is accurate and on-brand, and implement tagging and metadata strategies that drive discoverability across the store. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in catalog quality, works independently, and understands that great product content is a direct driver of sales.

Client Overview

This is a fast-growing e-commerce brand specialising in children's apparel, known for high-volume weekly product releases and a strong online retail presence. The business operates a well-established Shopify storefront with a broad catalog spanning thousands of pieces across diverse styles and collections. With a dedicated product team and a clear brand voice, they are scaling their operations and looking for detail-oriented talent to help maintain catalog excellence.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Central Time, 30-minute break (40hrs per week)
