Spanish Bilingual Immigration Legal Assistant

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Immigration Legal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals with case preparation, document management, filing packets, and day-to-day administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting immigration cases, works efficiently, follows established processes accurately, and can manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Strong written and spoken English, clear pronunciation, and professional communication skills are essential for this role.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, with a 1-hour unpaid break. (40hrs per week)

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support for immigration cases
  • Prepare, organize, and assemble immigration filing packets accurately and efficiently
  • Organize and maintain case files, documents, forms, and supporting evidence
  • Follow established case processes, procedures, and filing requirements
  • Track case-related correspondence, notices, deadlines, and follow-up items
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before submission
  • Manage assigned tasks independently and ensure work is completed within established deadlines
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with case preparation and other administrative needs
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, and other relevant parties as needed
  • Proactively identify missing information or documents and follow up when necessary

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as an Immigration Legal Assistant or in a similar immigration legal support role
  • Hands-on experience preparing and assembling immigration filing packets
  • Strong understanding of immigration case documentation and established legal processes
  • Ability to work efficiently, manage assigned tasks independently, and follow established processes with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in both English & Spanish language
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, and other relevant parties
  • Ability to review documents carefully for accuracy, completeness, and consistency

Nice to have:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
  • Experience working in an immigration law firm or legal services environment
  • Familiarity with common U.S. immigration forms, filings, and case documentation
  • Experience working with case management or document management systems
