Full-Stack Engineer

Job Overview:

This role requires a hands-on Staff or Principal Full-Stack Engineer to step in and take long-term technical ownership of an established, near-production web application. Rather than building a greenfield MVP, you will focus on the final stages of production hardening—including performance, security, reliability, and accessibility—while actively writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining code to protect and advance the existing system safely.

Schedule: Remote, Full Time | Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST

Responsibilities:

Full-Stack Engineering

  • Learn and understand the existing application architecture
  • Personally write, debug, review, test, and deploy production code
  • Own frontend, backend, and database engineering

Database & Data

  • Own PostgreSQL/Supabase data architecture and integrity
  • Design and safely execute database migrations
  • Maintain data models and relationships
  • Ensure appropriate backup and recovery practices

Security

  • Own authentication and authorization
  • Manage permissions and least-privilege access
  • Protect credentials, secrets, and sensitive data
  • Maintain secure production access
  • Support MFA, audit logging, and secure development practices

Deployment & Infrastructure

  • Own production deployments, releases, and rollback processes
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Maintain staging and production separation
  • Monitor application health and infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve production incidents
  • Maintain logging, monitoring, and alerts

Testing & Quality

  • Maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Use automated testing to protect production releases
  • Identify and resolve reliability and performance issues
  • Properly validate changes before deployment

Technical Ownership

  • Preserve established product and business logic
  • Improve technical debt without unnecessarily rewriting working systems
