About the Role
We are looking for an FP&A Manager to own financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting for a growing, multi-entity technology company. This role sits at the center of our Executive Finance function — you will build the budget, run the rolling forecast, own cash flow visibility, and turn the numbers coming out of accounting into insight leadership can act on. This is not a bookkeeping role. Day-to-day transactional accounting (AP, AR, payroll, GL close) is handled by our internal accounting team and our outsourced accounting partner, Citrin Cooper. What we need from you is the layer above that: rigorous planning and modeling, sharp variance analysis, and enough accounting fluency to know when the numbers coming out of accounting operations are right — and to push back when they're not.
Candidates coming out of investment banking or private equity are strongly preferred, given the modeling rigor, analytical horsepower, and comfort with ambiguity those backgrounds build. This
is not a requirement — what matters most is a strong FPA foundation and the accounting judgment to know when accounting operations are working as they should.
What You'll Own
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare the board-approved budget
• Own and update the rolling monthly forecast
• Deliver variance analysis and financial commentary that explains the “why,” not just the “what”
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards and management reporting that give leadership a clear, timely picture of business performance
• Support board and investor reporting packages
Cash & Treasury
• Own weekly cash flow forecasting
• Support banking relationship management and quarterly covenant reporting
• Monitor liquidity and flag risks or opportunities early Accounting Operations Oversight
• Ensure the accounting operations engine — accounts payable, billing and collections, payroll, and month-end close — is running accurately and on time across our internal team (AP/Payroll, AR/Billing) and our outsourced accounting partner
• Review outputs from GL close, bank reconciliations, and journal entries for accuracy before they inform planning and reporting
• Be a second set of eyes on accounting operations — you don't process the transactions, but nothing should reach leadership with an error you could have caught
• Escalate process breakdowns or control gaps in accounting operations before they become a problem
Tax & Compliance Support
• Partner with the Controller and external CPA firm on sales tax filings and tax planning, including R&D tax credit preparation
• Support the annual audit process with schedules, analysis, and documentation
• Help maintain compliance calendars so nothing falls through the cracks
Technology & Automation
• Work within Sage / Sage Intacct as the primary financial system
• Actively use AI tools and automation to speed up modeling, reporting, and variance analysis
• Partner with the operations and technology team on financial systems and reporting integrations
Cross-Functional Partnership
• Work closely with Executive Finance leadership, the Controller, and Citrin Cooper
(outsourced accounting) to connect planning to actuals
• Translate financial data into insight that non-finance leaders can act on
• Be a proactive communicator — bring problems and opportunities forward early
What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or private equity experience
• Investment banking or private equity background strongly preferred, though not required
• Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements — enough to review
accounting operations output critically, even though this role does not perform bookkeeping
• Experience with multi-entity or consolidated reporting a plus
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or a comparable ERP system, plus advanced Excel
• Demonstrated comfort with AI tools and genuine interest in using technology to improve FP&A processes
• Strong communicator who can translate financial data into clear insight for non-finance leadership
Who You Are
• You are honest. You deliver accurate information even when its uncomfortable.
• You are curious. You ask questions others don't think to ask, and you don't stop until you understand what the numbers are telling you.
• You understand the bigger picture. You know that a forecast is only as good as the
accounting underneath it, and you hold both to a high standard.
• You are collaborative and self-aware. You work well across the organization and with our outsourced accounting partner, without creating friction.
• You are curious about technology. You look for a better way instead of waiting to be told to find one.
• You are a good human. You treat people well — your colleagues, your team, and our external partners. We have built a high-trust, collaborative culture at Datapath and we protect it. This is non-negotiable.
