This role operates at the intersection of ecommerce, business systems, automation, and software development. In this full-time Ecommerce & Business Systems Developer role, you will build and maintain integrations connecting platforms like Shopify Plus and Odoo ERP to streamline operations. You will collaborate across departments to eliminate manual workflows using Python, JavaScript, custom APIs, and modern AI-assisted development tools. It is an ideal role for a resourceful technical problem solver who excels at learning new technologies and scaling business processes.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, flexible with required overlap from 10-11 AM MST (35-40 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain technical solutions that improve efficiency across the business
• Develop and maintain Shopify customizations using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Shopify API
• Configure, customize, and support Odoo workflows and business processes
• Build custom automations, scripts, and internal tools using Python, JavaScript, and other appropriate technologies
• Design and maintain integrations between Shopify, Odoo, and third-party applications
• Research, evaluate, implement, and maintain business software, APIs, and technical integrations
• Create automation workflows that eliminate repetitive manual work and improve data accuracy
• Troubleshoot technical issues across multiple business systems and coordinate with external developers when needed
• Document technical solutions, integrations, and internal processes to improve long-term maintainability
• Recommend new technologies, AI workflows, and system improvements that help the business scale
• Support ecommerce initiatives through theme enhancements, custom functionality, and technical implementation
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and deliver practical technical solutions

Must-Have Requirements

• Experience with Odoo ERP
• Experience with Shopify Plus
• 2–5 years of experience in software development, technical systems, ecommerce development, or business systems administration
• Strong experience working with Shopify, including Liquid theme development and the Shopify ecosystem
• Experience developing with JavaScript and Python
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, APIs, JSON, webhooks, and system integrations
• Experience troubleshooting and integrating multiple software platforms
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to independently solve technical problems
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
• Highly organized with strong documentation and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
• Strong desire to continuously learn new technologies, platforms, and development techniques

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs
• Experience with Shopify Flow, Shopify Functions, and Shopify Markets
• Experience integrating ERP, ecommerce, CRM, WMS, or POS platforms
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Experience building internal business applications or workflow automations
