Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Freight Dispatcher to manage a fleet of owner-operators and maximize profitability through efficient load planning, freight sourcing, rate negotiation, and exceptional driver support.

Schedule: Remote Full-Time | Mon-Fri 9am - 6pm CST.

Responsibilities:

• Source profitable freight through brokers, 3PLs, load boards, and existing customer relationships.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates while maximizing truck profitability.
• Dispatch and manage a fleet of 10–15 owner-operators.
• Plan efficient routes to minimize deadhead and maximize loaded miles.
• Monitor freight markets and identify high-paying opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments while proactively resolving scheduling issues.
• Track loads from pickup through delivery and provide timely updates to drivers and customers.
• Handle operational issues including detention, TONU, layovers, and schedule changes.
• Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), DOT regulations, and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate load and driver information within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Collaborate with recruiting, safety, and operations teams to ensure smooth day-to-day execution.

Requirements:

• Experience dispatching trucks in the U.S. transportation industry is mandatory.
• Approximately 4 years of U.S. trucking dispatch experience is preferred; however, candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong dispatching knowledge and a proven track record.
• Experience booking freight using DAT Freight Match, Direct broker/customer freight, Internet Truckstop (preferred).
  
• Strong freight negotiation and rate-building skills.
• Solid understanding of Hours of Service (HOS), DOT regulations, Appointment scheduling, Spot market operations, Detention, TONU, and layovers.
  
• Experience managing multiple drivers simultaneously.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as McLeod, Turvo, AscendTMS, or similar.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Reliable home office setup with stable internet connection.
• Highly Preferred: Strong background in dispatching owner-operators and managing dry van, reefer, or flatbed freight, supported by deep knowledge of U.S. freight markets and lane pricing. 
• Highly Preferred: Established relationships with freight brokers combined with proven experience working remotely for a U.S.-based logistics or trucking company.
