Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Citation Specialist to join their Local SEO team. In this role, you will build, manage, and optimize business citations across online directories while ensuring consistent NAP information for clients. You will strengthen local search visibility by executing campaigns, managing listings, and supporting profile verification processes.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Utah-Mountain timezone with a 1-hour unpaid break (8 hours per day/40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute local citation campaigns using BrightLocal.
• Complete manual citation submissions across relevant business directories.
• Create, claim, verify, and optimize business listings for clients.
• Ensure consistent Name, Address, and Phone Number (NAP) information across all directories and platforms.
• Create business profiles on major social media platforms and relevant online directories.
• Perform citation audits, cleanup, and duplicate listing removal.
• Track citation submissions, verification status, and campaign progress.
• Maintain organized documentation, login credentials, and campaign records.
• Provide regular progress updates and identify listings requiring client verification or additional information.
• Collaborate with the SEO team to support local search optimization strategies.
• Follow established SEO best practices and continuously identify opportunities to improve citation quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing local SEO citations and business directory submissions.
• Hands-on experience using BrightLocal.
• Strong understanding of Local SEO principles and NAP consistency.
• Experience creating and managing business profiles across social media platforms.
• Experience with profile claiming, verification, and citation cleanup.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client campaigns while meeting deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Google Business Profile optimization.
• Familiarity with Whitespark, Moz Local, Yext, or similar local SEO tools.
• Experience working with digital marketing or SEO agencies.
• Understanding of local search ranking factors and citation best practices.
