Job Overview
Our client is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to support day-to-day transportation operations. This role is responsible for monitoring shipments, communicating with drivers, brokers, and customers, providing real-time shipment updates, and ensuring freight moves efficiently from pickup through delivery.
The ideal candidate has prior experience working in logistics or the U.S. transportation industry, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional customer service.
Schedule: Full time, Mon-Fri 9am - 6pm CST
Responsibilities
- Monitor and track shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Track and trace 10–20 active drivers throughout the day.
- Provide timely shipment updates to customers, brokers, and internal teams.
- Communicate proactively with drivers regarding appointments, delays, and operational changes.
- Identify and address potential service issues before they become critical.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, customers, and drivers to resolve delays and shipment exceptions.
- Enter and maintain accurate load information within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Update shipment statuses and delivery milestones in real time.
- Escalate operational issues when necessary.
- Verify pickup and delivery documentation.
- Ensure all shipment records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Maintain effective communication between operations, safety, billing, and customer service teams.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in logistics, freight, supply chain, or the U.S. transportation industry is mandatory.
- 1–3 years of logistics or transportation experience is preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered if they have strong knowledge of freight operations and shipment coordination.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Reliable home office setup with stable internet.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as McLeod, DAT, Turvo, Truckstop, AscendTMS, or similar.
- Knowledge of shipment tracking, freight operations, and transportation workflows.
- Familiarity with U.S. trucking terminology, dispatch processes, and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Google Workspace.
- Experience communicating with customers, brokers, and drivers regarding shipment updates and operational issues.
