UK HR Manager (CQC Compliance)

Job Overview:

Our client is looking for a UK HR Manager (CQC Compliance) who will be responsible for overseeing all human resources functions within the company, ensuring compliance with UK employment law, CQC requirements, and internal policies. This remote role supports recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and workforce compliance within a regulated home care environment.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM BST (35 work hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention of care and office staff.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation, CQC requirements, and safer recruitment standards.
  • Oversee employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Maintain accurate staff records, including right-to-work checks, DBS documentation, and training compliance.
  • Support managers with performance management, supervision guidance, and HR advice.
  • Review, update, and implement HR policies, employment contracts, and staff handbooks.
  • Prepare HR reports, compliance updates, and workforce data for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Proven HR management experience, ideally within the health or social care sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and CQC compliance (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Highly adaptable and willing to adjust to changing business and operational requirements.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Goal-oriented, outcome-focused, and able to prioritize tasks to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident, firm, and structured in handling HR processes, employee matters, and policy implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is desirable.
