Data Entry and Quality Control Specialist

Job Overview:

Our client is building a pipeline of skilled remote contractors to support their data operations through a structured, two-phased career path. You will start in Phase 1 mastering high-volume data entry and operational foundations before graduating into Phase 2 as a Quality Control Specialist. This progressive role is ideal for detail-oriented, tech-savvy professionals looking for a stable, long-term growth opportunity.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Flexible schedule with client's business hours, Lisle, IL Time; 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week

Responsibilities

  • Phase 1 (Data Entry & Foundation - First 1.5 to 2 Months): Enter technical information from fire and life-safety inspection reports into the internal corporate system.
  • Process a high-volume, steady queue of records daily while strictly following established operational rules for handling incomplete, unclear, or complex documents.
  • Phase 2 (Quality Control Specialist - Upon Transition): Review and audit data entered by newer contractors and external vendor partners against original inspection records. (Note: Successful transition or graduation into the Phase 2 Quality Control function includes permanent additional compensation and a formalized performance review.)
  • Verify that all required data architecture fields are error-free and complete.
  • Systematically identify, track, and correct data discrepancies, including missing fields, incorrect values, and transcription mismatches.
  • Isolate and escalate highly complex records requiring specialized managerial intervention.

Requirements:

  • Deep care for structural accuracy with a natural ability to catch minute discrepancies, formatting errors, and missing metrics.
  • A high level of dependability and focus is required to maintain steady daily output while processing repetitive, volume-driven data queues.
  • Proactive attitude toward following technical feedback, applying process guidelines immediately, and adapting to shifting system procedures.
  • Clear written communication skills to accurately flag operational issues and articulate system problems to leadership.
  • Prior professional experience in data entry, records management, back-office processing, or quality assurance is preferred but not strictly required.
  • Must be tech-savvy, a quick learner, and hardworking.

Independent Contractor Perks:

  • Permanent work from home
  • Immediate hiring
  • Health Insurance Coverage for eligible locations
