Financial Controller

Job Overview:

You will step into a critical financial leadership role as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) functioning as a quasi-controller for a multi-location healthcare clinic. You'll take full ownership of their QuickBooks system, ensuring accuracy across all accounts while completing a necessary cleanup process.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time

Responsibilities:

  • Post all financial transactions into QuickBooks accurately and maintain the integrity of the accounting system.
  • Manage and maintain the accounts payable ledger with precision and timeliness.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and bank statements on a monthly basis.
  • Complete end-of-month closing processes and ensure all financial records are current.
  • Clean up and organize existing QuickBooks data to establish better financial tracking systems.
  • Maintain consistent financial workflows and ensure all accounts are properly categorized.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare accounting standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Active CPA certification, ideally paired with prior controller-level experience within a medical, clinical, or practice setting.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks, specifically including system setup, data cleanup, and optimization.
  • A proven track record in full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable management, ledger maintenance, monthly reconciliations, and end-of-month closing processes.
  • Direct experience in healthcare or medical practice accounting environments, with a strong bonus for managing multi-location healthcare operations.
  • Familiarity with specialized clinical operations, such as infusion therapy clinic setups or medical billing processes.
  • The ability to work highly independently while maintaining consistent, proactive communication with the rest of the team.
