Digital Marketing Coordinator (Travel & Tourism)

Job Description:

You will take ownership of the digital marketing and client engagement strategy for a thriving travel business. Working with established systems and templates, you will manage weekly newsletter distribution, develop and execute social media content across platforms, and optimize the company website to support business growth. Client Overview:

Our client is an established travel agency with over 26 years of industry experience, specializing in personalized travel planning, including flights, accommodation, coach touring, river cruising, and destination hotels. The business is expanding into group travel and escorted tours, requiring dedicated support to strengthen its digital presence and client communication.

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, flexible schedule within the client’s business hours (between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, Australian Eastern Time, 20 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and distribute weekly client newsletters using a pre-established program and templates
  • Create, schedule, and publish social media content across multiple platforms to promote travel services and escorted group tours
  • Develop and maintain content calendars to ensure consistent posting schedules
  • Complete unfinished sections of the company website and maintain ongoing website updates
  • Implement SEO strategies to improve online visibility and search rankings
  • Optimize posting schedules based on audience engagement and platform analytics
  • Collaborate with the business owner to align social media strategy with business growth objectives
  • Promote new service offerings, including group travel and escorted tour packages

Must-Have Requirements

  • Proven experience managing social media platforms for business purposes
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging social media content and campaigns
  • Experience with email newsletter management and distribution platforms
  • Website content management and basic editing skills
  • Understanding of SEO principles and implementation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage content calendars and posting schedules
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

  • Bonus if you have experience in the travel or tourism industry
  • It helps if you are familiar with WordPress or similar content management systems
