Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer for Legal Workflow Automation to design, build, and optimize specialized AI agents and natural language processing solutions that automate and enhance legal workflows. In this role, you will leverage frameworks like Python, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and Pattern Builder MAX to integrate enterprise AI systems with internal platforms and external APIs. Collaborating closely with legal stakeholders, you will maintain production models, drive technical innovation, and support the internal adoption of emerging artificial intelligence technologies.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, working UK hours 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and improve AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Net Documents Pattern Builder Max, and similar platforms to automate and enhance legal workflows (e.g., drafting, document review, knowledge retrieval).

• Develop and deploy machine learning models and AI systems, including natural language processing solutions for legal text analysis.

• Integrate AI tools into existing systems and workflows, ensuring seamless connectivity with internal platforms and external APIs.

• Work closely with the internal AI strategy team and legal stakeholders to translate business needs into practical AI solutions.

• Liaise with third-party AI providers to implement changes, onboard new tools, and manage integrations

• Review, test, and maintain AI systems to ensure they remain accurate, secure, and up to date.

• Monitor system performance and continuously optimise models and workflows.

• Research emerging AI tools and technologies and contribute to the firm’s AI strategy and innovation pipeline.

• Support internal adoption of AI tools through training and guidance for lawyers and staff.

• Assist the marketing team in communicating the firm’s AI capabilities and offerings to clients.

Requirements:

• Approximately 3–8 years’ experience in AI, machine learning, or software development roles (we will consider strong candidates outside this range).

• Strong programming skills, particularly in Python (and ideally another language such as Java or C#).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with AI/LLM frameworks.

• Experience building or working with AI agents, ideally using Microsoft Copilot Studio or comparable platforms.

• Experience integrating AI systems into enterprise environments using APIs and automation tools.

• Strong data handling and preprocessing skills for machine learning applications.

• Experience monitoring and maintaining AI systems in production environments.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; innovative and proactive, with a strong interest in emerging AI technologies.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Experience in legal technology or professional services environments.

• Understanding of legal sector AI use cases (e.g., document review, case analysis,
  drafting tools).

• Awareness of AI governance, data privacy, and regulatory considerations.

• Experience working with external vendors or client-facing technical delivery.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms.

• A Master’s degree or relevant AI/LLM certifications are advantageous but not
  essential.
