Technical Project Manager

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Infrastructure Project Manager to support a leading US-based IT Consulting and Managed Service Provider (MSP) serving mid-sized enterprises, primarily in the healthcare sector. This full-time remote role serves as the organizational backbone for high-impact infrastructure and onboarding projects, driving accountability, managing dependencies, validating task completion, and aligning client expectations to ensure deliverables are completed on time. The position focuses exclusively on MSP onboarding, network, and infrastructure projects and does not involve software development or agile/scrum program management.

Client Overview

The client is an established leader in the IT services industry with a distributed team spanning the United States and an overseas engineering arm. They specialize in a comprehensive, flat-rate managed services model, taking full ownership of their clients' IT infrastructure. With approximately 70% of their client base in healthcare, they maintain an exceptionally high standard for compliance, security, and operational excellence.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT (Tentative) (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Rigorous Task & Deliverable Tracking: Break down complex infrastructure and onboarding goals into granular, daily actionable tasks; relentlessly follow up with technical staff to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Engineering Accountability: Drive accountability across internal and external technical teams, ensuring engineers are updating tickets, clearing blockers, and sticking to the critical path.

  • Client Onboarding Orchestration: Coordinate the end-to-end client onboarding process, including discovery, environment scoping, endpoint deployment, and the final transition to live support.

  • Critical Path & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, map, and manage project dependencies and risks across multiple concurrent projects to prevent timeline slippage.

  • Technical Validation: Verify and validate that technical tasks (e.g., cloud migrations, network setups) are fully completed and meet quality standards before client sign-off.

  • Transparent Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, translating technical milestone tracking into clear, concise status reports for both clients and internal executive staff.

Requirements

  • MSP/IT Services Core Experience: 3–5+ years of dedicated project management experience specifically within an MSP or IT Services environment. Experience managing software development, DevOps, or pure Agile/Scrum teams will not be considered for this role.

  • Infrastructure Project Exposure: Proven track record successfully managing deployments across client onboarding, Microsoft 365 migrations, cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), cybersecurity implementations, network overrides, and endpoint rollouts.

  • Methodology: Mastery of Critical Path Method (CPM), dependency mapping, and multi-project resource scheduling.

  • Software & PSA Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MSP platforms/PSA tools (ConnectWise Manage or Autotask) alongside standard project management software (MS Project, Monday.com, Asana, or Jira).

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with a confident, consultative approach to managing client relationships.
