Dispatcher & Field Service Coordinator (Commercial Appliance Repair)

Overview:

We are a long-established commercial appliance repair company serving the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for a remote Dispatcher to coordinate our field technicians across the region. In this role, you will serve as the operational hub between our customers, technicians, and office team, ensuring service calls are scheduled efficiently and technicians are dispatched effectively. 

Schedule: Fixed schedule, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Pacific Standard Time 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily scheduling and routing of field technicians based on job priority, location, and technician availability
  • Monitor technician status and ETAs throughout the day, communicating with customers regarding appointment windows and delays, and adjusting schedules in real time when jobs run long or emergencies arise
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technicians needing support in the field
  • Maintain accurate records of job status in the company's dispatch system
  • Coordinate with the operations team on recurring service accounts and priority clients

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of dispatch or scheduling coordination experience, ideally in a field service, trades, or repair industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort multitasking across phone, text, and dispatch software simultaneously
  • A calm, organized approach to handling schedule changes and urgent requests
  • Reliable internet and a quiet remote work setup
  • If not already familiar with the Bay Area, demonstrated ability to quickly learn a new service region/geography (e.g. prior roles requiring fast ramp-up on unfamiliar territories or routes)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Bay Area's geography and traffic patterns
  • Experience with Verizon Connect or similar fleet/dispatch tracking software
  • Prior experience in appliance repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or another field service trade
  • Experience working with commercial clients (restaurants, healthcare facilities, etc.)
