Global Business Development Director

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Global Business Development Director to lead our international business development function and drive strategic revenue growth across multiple global markets.

This executive leadership role is responsible for developing and executing global sales strategies, leading high-performing Business Development teams, and expanding our international client portfolio. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in international sales, cross-border workforce solutions, or global recruitment, along with a proven track record of building high-performing commercial teams and closing enterprise-level opportunities.

As a strategic leader, you will partner closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, and Delivery teams to ensure a seamless client experience while positioning the company as a trusted global workforce solutions partner.


Key Responsibilities

Global Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and execute the company's global business development strategy aligned with revenue and growth objectives.
  • Identify new international markets, industries, and strategic partnerships to support expansion.
  • Build market-specific go-to-market strategies, value propositions, and competitive positioning.
  • Establish pricing strategies, commercial frameworks, and enterprise sales approaches.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.

Sales Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior Business Development Managers, Business Development Executives, and Lead Generation teams across multiple international markets.
  • Foster a high-performance, results-oriented sales culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct pipeline reviews, deal strategy sessions, forecast meetings, and performance coaching.
  • Define KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and implement improvement plans where necessary.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top commercial talent.

Revenue Growth

  • Own international revenue targets and business development performance.
  • Drive enterprise sales initiatives and complex negotiations with strategic clients.
  • Support the team in closing high-value opportunities and multi-country agreements.
  • Develop long-term client acquisition and expansion strategies.
  • Optimize conversion rates throughout the sales funnel.

Client & Partner Relationships

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization during enterprise presentations, negotiations, conferences, and international events.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding clients' workforce challenges and providing strategic solutions.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Operations to ensure exceptional onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure consistent CRM utilization, pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and reporting standards.
  • Standardize global business development processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to improve lead generation strategies, campaigns, and messaging.
  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, and Delivery teams to ensure smooth client implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to international recruitment, labor mobility, and workforce regulations where applicable.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 8–12+ years of commercial sales and business development experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading international business development initiatives.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years managing high-performing sales or business development teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise sales across multiple countries or regions.
  • Proven experience developing and executing international growth strategies.
