Job Overview:
Our client, a leading British e-commerce company operating primarily in the United Kingdom, is looking for a dedicated Senior E-commerce Bookkeeper (Xero & Shopify) to become a key member of their team. Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM UK, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Note: This role requires flexibility predominantly during UK business hours but may include occasional meetings with the Hong Kong office.
Responsibilities:
- Daily reconciliations of financial transactions
- Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management, including managing draft invoices and bills, ensuring awareness of dates and deadlines, and daily account reconciliation
- Accurate and timely management of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets, ensuring all figures are correct, including stock inventory values and bill/invoice entries
- Ensuring accurate recognition of Shopify revenue, tracking e-commerce sales, and reconciling income to Shopify orders on a daily basis
- Inventory management and analysis across four locations (HK, China Mainland, USA, and UK), including managing stock levels and SKU quantities
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software, with full understanding of account ledgers and the ability to ensure the team understands each ledger in the accounts
- Lodging VAT returns, collaborating with the UK accountant to understand the monthly submission procedure, and completing the process every month
- Providing insightful analysis on cash flow forecasts, budgeting, and contributing to the company's growth
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Bookkeeping for e-commerce experience, preferably with Shopify
- Solid understanding of inventory management
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate with the team
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities, such as lodging VAT returns and having some international experience
