Job Overview
Our client is looking for a systems-minded E-Commerce Operations & Marketplace Manager to take ownership of daily e-commerce operations and help drive business growth across multiple online sales channels. You will begin by stabilizing customer service, supplier workflows, marketplace operations, and marketing processes, with the goal of automating key functions and stepping into a full-time leadership role within two months.
This role is ideal for someone who is both a hands-on operator and an experienced team leader, with strong Amazon Seller Central expertise, e-commerce operations experience, and a solid understanding of social media marketing.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 4 hours per day (flexible within client business hours) BST/GMT, with 1 hour unpaid/paid break (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Build and implement Zendesk.
- Manage customer support tickets and workflows.
- Introduce AI-powered chatbot applications within Shopify to reduce manual workload and improve customer response times.
Customer Experience (Phase 1)
Supply Chain & Operations
- Manage supplier routing and production issues.
- Track refunds, order progress, and fulfillment performance.
- Lead the setup of operational automations with suppliers and internal systems.
- Create and maintain SOPs to improve operational efficiency.
Marketplace & Catalog Management
- Manage product listings across Amazon Seller Central, Etsy, and Shopify.
- Create, optimize, and maintain Amazon listings, ensuring compliance with platform requirements and best practices.
- Conduct listing quality assurance and implement basic SEO optimization.
- Monitor catalog performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Social Media & Marketing
- Support social media management and content coordination across key platforms.
- Assist with marketing initiatives designed to drive traffic, engagement, and sales.
- Coordinate promotional campaigns and ensure alignment between marketplace listings and marketing activities.
- Monitor marketing performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and support existing virtual assistants and remote team members.
- Implement systems, workflows, and accountability measures.
- Drive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives as the business scales.
Requirements
Amazon Seller Central Experience (Essential)
- Proven, hands-on experience managing Amazon Seller Central accounts.
- Demonstrable experience creating and optimizing Amazon product listings.
- Must be able to provide examples of Amazon listings previously created or managed.
- Strong understanding of Amazon listing best practices, catalog management, and marketplace operations.
Leadership Experience
- Previous experience managing people, remote teams, and operational workflows.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and drive results independently.
Systems & Automation Expertise
- Proven experience setting up Zendesk workflows and Shopify automations.
- Strong process improvement and systems-thinking mindset.
E-Commerce Experience
- Extensive experience with Shopify and Etsy.
- Experience managing product catalogs across multiple sales channels.
- Understanding of e-commerce SEO and listing optimization principles.
Social Media & Marketing Experience
- Experience supporting social media management and digital marketing initiatives.
- Understanding of content marketing, engagement strategies, and online brand growth.
Availability
- Must be able to start at 20 hours per week.
- Must have the capacity and willingness to transition to 40+ hours per week within 8 weeks.
