Job Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to join their growing e-commerce business. This role will be responsible for overseeing inventory management, logistics coordination, supplier relationships, and warehouse operations across Australia and the United States.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring products move efficiently from manufacturing through to warehouse receipt while maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting the company's continued growth. This position requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of operational processes with minimal supervision.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM AWST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Monitor inventory levels across multiple warehouses and sales channels
- Track inbound inventory from production through warehouse receipt
- Identify potential stock shortages and provide reorder recommendations
- Maintain accurate inventory records, shipment trackers, and reporting systems
- Support inventory forecasting and planning activities
Supplier & Logistics Coordination
- Manage day-to-day communication with suppliers and manufacturers
- Coordinate with freight forwarders to ensure timely movement of goods
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address delays or issues
- Ensure all shipping and inventory documentation is accurate and up to date
- Escalate supply chain risks and propose solutions when necessary
Warehouse & 3PL Management
- Coordinate with warehouse partners in Australia and the United States
- Monitor receiving timelines and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Manage inbound shipment schedules and warehouse communications
- Maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
- Ensure inventory is received, recorded, and stored accurately
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Develop, document, and maintain operational procedures and SOPs
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and accuracy
- Prepare inventory, logistics, and operational performance reports
- Support management with data-driven recommendations and operational insights
- Assist in implementing scalable systems and processes to support business growth
Requirements
- Previous experience in e-commerce operations, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management
- Experience working with Shopify-based e-commerce brands
- Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations
- Experience working with suppliers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fast-growing e-commerce businesses
- Inventory planning and demand forecasting experience
- Experience managing international supply chains
- Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers in China
- Familiarity with inventory management and logistics software
- Experience creating and maintaining operational SOPs
