Bookkeeper & Invoicing Administrator

Overview

Our client is seeking a remote, part-time Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations within Xero. This role combines core accounting and management reporting with efficient invoicing and payment tracking to optimize cash flow. It is an ideal opportunity for an organized, process-driven professional ready to deliver immediate financial clarity while working independently.

Schedule

  • Days: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM AEST (Sydney Time)
  • Commitment: 20 hours per week (4 hours per day)

Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Reconciliation: Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, perform bank/account reconciliations, and manage clean financial data.
  • Invoicing, AR & AP: Prepare and issue accurate invoices, monitor accounts receivable/payable, track payments, and conduct professional follow-ups on overdue accounts.
  • Financial Administration: Handle sensitive financial details with strict discretion and support ongoing administrative workflows.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Monitor receivables and provide management with timely updates on financial and operational reports.

Requirements

  • Essential Experience: Strong hands-on experience with Xero, accounts administration, and Australian bookkeeping practices (including GST treatment).
  • Financial Mastery: Strong understanding of the three financial statements and how daily transactions impact each of them.
  • Experienced in: * Preparing and interpreting Profit & Loss (P&L) statements
    • Preparing Balance Sheets
    • Preparing Cash Flow Statements
  • Advanced Skills: Ability to prepare management accounts and analyze the financial impact of depreciation and capital investments.
  • Technical & Core Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, remote-work experience, and exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
