Are you a detail-oriented Canadian Tax Bookkeeper & Admin Assistant (QuickBooks) who enjoys keeping finances organized while also supporting business operations? We're looking for a proactive and reliable professional to join our team in a unique role that combines bookkeeping, client communication, and basic marketing support.
In this position, you'll play a key role in managing day-to-day financial records, supporting Canadian tax compliance, tracking business profitability, and helping maintain strong relationships with clients. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute creatively by creating social media content using Canva and supporting client outreach efforts.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST 20 hours per week (4 hours per day)
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including categorizing and reconciling business and personal credit card transactions
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns and support CRA tax compliance on behalf of the business
- Track monthly expenses across categories (subscriptions, materials, CRM) to provide clear profitability insights
- Conduct outreach to past clients via text to re-engage them and schedule new work
- Create and publish basic social media content on Instagram and Facebook using Canva
- Prepare client quotes and handle client communication via text
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with QuickBooks and general bookkeeping practices
- Familiarity with Canadian tax requirements, including GST/HST and CRA processes
- Experience using Canva for basic graphic design and social media content creation
- Strong written communication skills with a high level of English proficiency
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Scope
- Support the business owner by taking over administrative and financial tasks to free up time for growth activities
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records on a consistent basis
- Assist with basic website updates as needed
- Provide monthly expense tracking and reporting to give visibility into business performance
- Handle light administrative duties including preparing quotes and managing client scheduling
