Overview:

Our client is a civil engineering contracting company specializing in drainage, earthworks, road construction, subdivision projects, and general building work. They primarily work on tendered projects and are looking to expand their estimation capabilities to support business growth.

We are seeking a Civil Estimator & Quantity Surveyor ( (Roads, Drainage & Subdivision Projects)  to join our client's team on a part-time basis with potential to grow into a full-time role. The ideal candidate will review engineering plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and build detailed bills of quantities and schedules of quantities for civil engineering projects. This role may evolve to include pricing work as the candidate becomes more familiar with the company's operations and project requirements.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Time Zone: New Zealand Standard Time

Responsibilities:

• Review civil engineering plans and technical drawings for drainage, earthworks, road construction, and subdivision projects

• Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements from project plans and specifications

• Build comprehensive bills of quantities and schedules of quantities for tender submissions

• Organize and maintain estimation documentation and spreadsheets

• Support the estimation process with potential progression to pricing project work

Must-Have Requirements:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering estimation or quantity surveying

• Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software for estimation purposes

• Experience reviewing civil engineering plans and performing quantity takeoffs

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

• Familiarity with estimation software such as Candy or Benchmark estimating platforms

• Background in drainage, earthworks, road construction, or subdivision projects
