CAD Drafter (Cabinetry & Countertop Focus)
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to produce accurate technical and shop drawings for cabinetry and countertop projects. This role supports construction and millwork workflows by converting existing blueprints and CAD files into precise, architect-ready submittal drawings.
Candidates with experience in cabinetry, millwork, countertops, or similar interior construction drafting are strongly preferred.
Schedule: Mon - Fri Flexible from 8am - 8pm PST (20 hours a week)
Key Responsibilities
Technical Drawing & Drafting
- Create accurate shop drawings from existing blueprints and CAD files
- Produce detailed drawings for cabinetry, countertops, and millwork installations
- Ensure drawings meet architect specifications and construction standards
- Maintain accuracy in dimensions, materials, and technical details
Submittal Preparation
- Prepare complete submittal packages for architect review
- Revise drawings based on feedback and ensure timely approvals
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to confirm design requirements
Project Coordination
- Work with internal teams to verify measurements, materials, and specifications
- Manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all deliverables
Requirements
- Proven experience in CAD drafting within construction, architecture, millwork, cabinetry, or countertop environments (preferred/required)
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (2D and/or 3D drafting tools)
- Ability to interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and floor plans accurately
- High attention to detail, especially with measurements and specifications
- Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects under deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Portfolio Requirement (Mandatory)
- Applicants must submit a portfolio of previous CAD work
- Preference given to candidates with cabinetry, millwork, or countertop drafting samples
- Portfolio should demonstrate technical accuracy and construction-ready drawings
Scope of Work
- Part-time role starting at 20 hours per week, with potential to scale
- Ongoing drafting support across multiple construction projects
- Receive CAD files and blueprints from the client team and convert them into submittal-ready drawings
- Flexible scheduling aligned with client project timelines
