Residential Architect – Revit Specialist
Job Overview
Our client is a growing Australian residential design and construction business specializing in high-quality, pre-designed home solutions. They are seeking a highly skilled and system-minded Residential Architect – Revit Specialist to drive design excellence and establish scalable architectural processes.
In this role, you will lead the adaptation, drafting, and documentation of premium home templates, turning raw concepts into approval-ready architectural plans. This position bridges creative design with technical compliance and is structured to evolve into an internal leadership role as the drafting and architecture unit expands.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Australian Time (AEST/AEDT depending on seasonal daylight savings changes) Includes a 30-minute paid break daily (40 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
Revit Modeling & Australian Compliance
- Template Adaptation: Produce high-integrity architectural site plans, internal layouts, and detailed exterior facade designs in Revit based on established template catalogs and specific lot dimensions.
- Regulatory Auditing: Ensure all active structural drawings, building sections, and material schedules comply flawlessly with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards (AS), and localized local council planning schemes (DA/CDC pathways).
- Catalog Evolution: Partner with executive leadership to refine, improve, and expand the existing portfolio of pre-designed residential home solutions based on market feedback.
Workflow Quality Control & Mentorship
- Pipeline Management: Guide incoming residential projects smoothly from initial client design selection through to completed, council-ready construction documentation.
- Standards Maintenance: Develop, document, and enforce centralized Revit template standards, family libraries, and internal drafting SOPs to maintain strict quality control.
- Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and support junior architects and drafting technicians as the remote offshore team expands.
- Operational Logging: Coordinate, update, and track project milestones within internal CRM systems and workflow dashboards to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
Requirements
- Portfolio Requirement: A comprehensive, technical architectural portfolio demonstrating past Australian residential projects, Revit working drawings, and facade designs is strictly required.
- Australian Domain Expertise: Proven, hands-on architectural experience specifically within the Australian residential building industry.
- Software Mastery: Advanced, production-level proficiency in Revit for building information modeling (BIM) and construction documentation.
- Regulatory Fluency: Deep practical understanding of Australian building codes, residential design codes (R-Codes), planning regulations, and council approval processes.
- Leadership Profile: Previous experience mentoring junior draftspersons, managing architectural workflows, or serving as a team lead is highly desirable.
- Communication & Autonomy: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with the organizational agility needed to manage multiple properties simultaneously in a remote framework.
