We’re looking for a detail-driven AU Bookkeeper (Xero/QuickBooks) to join our AU Accounting team and play a key role in maintaining accurate and reliable financial records. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with data entry, accounts payable and receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger updates—ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes of a fast-paced finance function. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and collaborate with the wider team to support accurate reporting, timely processing, and strong financial control.

- Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM Sydney with 1-hr unpaid lunch
Responsibilities
The AU Bookkeeper (Xero/QuickBooks) supports the AU Accounting team with data entry, transaction processing, and ledger updates. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, strong bookkeeping skills, and a high level of integrity. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Bookkeeper plays a key role in maintaining precise financial records. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Perform data entry for accounts payable
- Allocate bank deposits to the open accounts receivable
- Process daily customer refunds upon the request from the customer service team and communicate issue resolutions with the customer service team
Bank & Account Reconciliation
- Process bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Reconcile discrepancies or errors identified and communicate accordingly
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for bank and balance sheet reconciliation
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Process general ledger journal entries
- Provide support for financial reporting and analysis as needed
- Adhere to the company’s financial policies and procedures
Administrative & General Support
- Provide administrative support to accounting functions
Process Improvement & AI Utilization
- Identify and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
- Actively utilize AI tools and applications to streamline daily tasks (e.g., data entry, report generation)
- Experiment with AI features to discover new methods for completing work more efficiently and effectively
Qualifications
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Xero Certification or similar credentials beneficial
Experience
- 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally within e-commerce or retail
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing and reconciling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the finance team
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and inventory systems is an advantage
