About the Role

We are seeking an experienced  Senior Industrial Design Engineer (3D, Fabrication & Production Design)  to join our growing remote design team. This role is ideal for a highly creative and technically skilled professional who can take projects from initial concept development through detailed shop drawings, production documentation, and fabrication support.

The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of industrial design, product development, and manufacturing expertise. They will collaborate closely with design, engineering, sales, and production teams to create innovative architectural, acoustical, experiential, and custom-built products for commercial environments.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time; 40hrs per week

Key Responsibilities

Design Development

• Develop creative concepts and product designs from initial ideation through final execution.
• Create high-quality 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Support new product development initiatives and product innovation projects.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and collaborative project meetings.
• Translate client requirements into practical and manufacturable design solutions.

Technical Design & Engineering

• Produce highly detailed fabrication-level shop drawings.
• Create CNC-ready production files for manufacturing.
• Develop assembly drawings, installation details, and exploded-view documentation.
• Prepare comprehensive manufacturing and production documentation packages.
• Ensure design intent aligns with fabrication capabilities and production requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production efficiency.

Project Support

• Assist sales teams in developing client concepts and design solutions.
• Support projects across commercial interiors, hospitality, workplace, trade show, retail, and experiential environments.
• Contribute to the development of design standards, templates, and drawing libraries.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for products, systems, and workflows.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Design, Product Design, Design Engineering, Interior Design, Exhibit Design, or a related field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating both creative design capabilities and technical detailing expertise.
• Proven experience producing fabrication-level shop drawings and production documentation.
• Experience working on custom-built products, environments, or architectural features.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.
• Experience collaborating with production and manufacturing teams.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Software Requirements

• V-Ray
• Microsoft Office

Experience generating CNC-ready files is highly desirable.
