We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer (PHP/Laravel & React) to scale and optimize a sophisticated internal platform for a leading UK driver education and compliance company. You will lead the development of learner management systems and compliance workflows using PHP/Laravel and React/TypeScript, while also supporting cross-platform mobile needs with Flutter. This role is critical for managing complex AWS infrastructure and integrating key APIs like Salesforce to drive operational efficiency. It is a full-time, remote position designed for a technical expert who thrives on building scalable solutions within highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

Frontend Development

• Develop and maintain responsive frontend applications using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
• Build user-friendly interfaces for learner onboarding, compliance workflows, and internal operational tools
• Support mobile and cross-platform development using Flutter and Dart
• Collaborate with operational and marketing teams to improve user experience and platform usability

Backend Development & Systems Integration

• Develop and maintain backend services using PHP, Laravel, and SQL databases
• Integrate third-party APIs including Salesforce and external government-related systems where required
• Support secure data handling and operational workflows involving licensing and compliance processes
• Optimize backend performance and maintain scalable architecture

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

• Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, SES, CloudWatch, RDS, ElastiCache, and ECS
• Support Docker-based deployments and containerized environments
• Maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions
• Assist with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation and infrastructure optimization
• Monitor system performance, uptime, and scalability

Collaboration & Operational Support

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve operational systems and workflows
• Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and ongoing product improvements
• Support evolving business requirements as the company continues to scale
• Maintain high standards of security, documentation, and code quality

 

Requirements

Frontend Requirements

• Strong experience with JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
• Experience developing applications using Flutter and Dart

Backend Requirements

• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel
• Solid understanding of SQL databases and backend architecture
• Experience integrating APIs, preferably Salesforce API integrations

Infrastructure & DevOps Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, SES, CloudWatch, RDS, ElastiCache, and ECS
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflows
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building systems for regulated or compliance-heavy industries
• Experience supporting operational workflow automation
• Familiarity with government or licensing-related systems
• Experience supporting distributed remote teams
• Understanding of scalable SaaS or operational platform development
