Job Overview

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Xero Bookkeeper with advanced, hands-on expertise in Australian taxation, comprehensive bookkeeping, and corporate regulatory frameworks. This role is designed for a high-level financial professional who can take full ownership of Business Activity Statements (BAS), end-to-end payroll processing, and complex account reconciliations. As a crucial member of the dedicated team, you will ensure total compliance, absolute precision, and maximum efficiency across all financial accounts.

Schedule

• Part-Time: 20 hours per week (4 hours per day).
• Flexibility: Hours are flexible but must be completed within standard client business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Sydney Time (AEST/AEDT), Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• BAS Compliance: Expertly prepare, audit, and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring absolute compliance with current Australian taxation laws and ATO regulations.
• Payroll & Ledger Processing: Efficiently manage end-to-end payroll operations, oversee accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), execute account reconciliations, and meticulously audit source documentation.
• EOFY Readiness: Accurately prepare and build End of Financial Year (EOFY) accounts and statements, strictly adhering to relevant regulatory standards and accounting guidelines.
• Data Integrity: Perform complex data-entry and transaction coding with exceptional attention to detail, preserving the accuracy and structural integrity of all financial figures.

Requirements

• Senior-Level Experience: Demonstrated background in a senior bookkeeping, client accounting services (CAS), or corporate accounting role.
• Australian Tax Mastery: Mandatory, deep first-hand experience managing Australian taxation requirements, financial frameworks, BAS lodging, and comprehensive payroll compliance.
• Software Expertise: Advanced, daily proficiency in Xero accounting software and its associated ecosystem is strictly required.
• Operational Precision: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to hit tight regulatory deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
• Professional Character: Highly reliable, detail-oriented, and trustworthy when handling confidential financial profiles.
