Our client is a rapidly growing Australian private lender specializing in complex, high-value property-backed transactions. They are seeking an operationally strong, detail-oriented Loan Settlement Officer to manage the critical lifecycle phase from credit approval through to final funding and post-settlement administration. In this full-time remote role, you will be the core coordinator bringing transactions across the finish line—liaising directly with mortgage brokers, borrowers, solicitors, valuers, and internal credit executives. Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST (VIC Time), with a 1-hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Settlement Management: Direct the complete settlement pipeline for private lending transactions, ensuring smooth handoffs from the underwriting stage to final funding.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the central point of contact, orchestrating timelines and booking schedules between borrowers, brokers, solicitors, valuers, and institutional legal representatives.
- Document Audit & Compliance: Conduct comprehensive pre-settlement checks, verifying mortgage documents, corporate securities, discharges, and tracking compliance checkboxes with precision.
- Conditions Precedent Tracking: Monitor outstanding credit conditions precedent (CPs), proactively ensuring all transaction and regulatory requirements are fully satisfied before clear-to-close status is granted.
- Funding Logistics: Prepare precise funding instructions, coordinate transactional capital movements, and secure structural settlement bookings.
- Post-Settlement Administration: Oversee trailing administrative tasks, including security registration auditing, loan file archiving, compliance reporting, and onboarding data to internal tracking systems.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal credit and operational teams to streamline internal workflows and strengthen risk governance standards.
Requirements
- Australian Lending Expertise: Proven experience in loan settlements, mortgage administration, banking operations, or private credit within the Australian financial services landscape.
- Property-Backed Knowledge: A strong operational understanding of residential and/or commercial property-backed lending structures, title mechanics, and security discharges.
- Pipeline Management: Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-value transactions and competing court-style deadlines simultaneously.
- Communication & Discretion: Superior written and verbal English communication skills, equipped to manage high-stakes conversations with corporate solicitors and external legal councils.
- Technical Literacy: High proficiency operating the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and modern loan origination platforms or mortgage CRMs.
