Spanish Bilingual Full Charge Bookkeeper

Job Overview

An established U.S.-based CPA firm is seeking an experienced, Spanish bilingual Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage multiple client accounts. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who excels in QuickBooks Desktop, as the majority of the firm’s clients rely on this platform. While many clients operate in the cannabis industry, specific industry experience is not required, as specialized training will be provided. The successful candidate will be a dependable communicator capable of handling end-to-end bookkeeping—from manual data entry to month-end closures—while maintaining direct, professional relationships with U.S.-based clients.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 06:30 PM Eastern Time, includes lunch break (40 hours per week) Note: Must be available during U.S. business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Bookkeeping: Perform full-charge bookkeeping duties for various clients, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • QuickBooks Management: Manually enter and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Desktop (Bank, Check, and Credit Card registers) directly from statements.
  • Reconciliations: Conduct thorough bank and credit card reconciliations and perform general ledger reviews.
  • Financial Reporting: Familiarize with and prepare financial statements; perform journal entries and month-end procedures.
  • Payroll Journalizing: Properly record and journalize U.S. payroll entries into QuickBooks.
  • Quality Control: Act as the primary line of defense against errors by reviewing books for discrepancies and ensuring completeness.
  • Client Communication: Handle professional email correspondence, occasional phone calls, and Zoom meetings with clients in both English and Spanish.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Full Charge Bookkeeping experience.
  • QuickBooks Mastery: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is mandatory (manual entry, batch transactions, importing).
  • Software Versatility: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • U.S. Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. bookkeeping procedures and working with U.S.-based businesses.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken English/Spanish skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Manual Entry Skills: Ability to work efficiently without relying solely on automated bank feeds or imports.

Qualifications

  • Experience with QuickBooks Class Tracking (Plus Factor).
  • Demonstrated ability to "clean up" messy or unorganized sets of books (Plus Factor).
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex accounting problems (Plus Factor).
