Work Schedule: 40hrs per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break | Eastern Time

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain accurate MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) construction drawings in CAD for approximately 80% of the working day
• Cross-reference client notes, furniture plans, and architectural layouts to ensure coordination and eliminate conflicts across disciplines
• Analyze and verify drawings against New York City building codes to ensure full regulatory compliance prior to submission
• Identify discrepancies, errors, and gaps in plans and proactively flag them for resolution
• Review and quality-check the work of other drafters to ensure accuracy, consistency, and code adherence
• Support the gradual development of a quality-control workflow to reduce the principal's review burden over time

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in CAD drafting with demonstrated experience in MEP or structural drawing production
• Familiarity with building code analysis, preferably New York City code or similar strict regulatory frameworks
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies across multiple plan sets
• Proactive and independent thinker who can problem-solve without constant direction

Scope:

• Primary focus on technical, code-compliant MEP documentation — not creative renderings or 3D visualizations
• Expected to evolve into a team-lead capacity over time, overseeing other drafters' output and managing quality control
• Work closely with the principal and licensed architect engineer to ensure deliverables meet NYC sign-off standards
• Contribute to reducing project backlogs and improving turnaround times on client deliverables
