Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly creative and trend-savvy Social Media Specialist to take full ownership of their digital presence and elevate engagement to new heights. They are looking for an innovator who moves beyond templates to craft fresh hooks and compelling stories that truly resonate across every platform. As a fast-moving and collaborative "social native," the ideal candidate will be deeply immersed in current trends to ensure the brand stays ahead of the curve while producing high-performing, original content. This proactive storyteller will thrive in a feedback-rich environment, transforming brand goals into captivating social experiences.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 4 hours per day (Flexible within client business hours) [Queensland, Australia]

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging, high-quality, and on-brand content across all social media platforms, with a strong focus on short-form video (Reels, TikTok).
  • Conceptualize and execute trend-driven content, including relevant audio, formats, and creative hooks that capture attention within the first few seconds.
  • Develop original content ideas beyond templates, ensuring variety, creativity, and audience appeal.
  • Build and manage a dynamic content calendar, ensuring consistency while adapting quickly to trends and opportunities.
  • Actively manage and grow the company’s Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn presence.
  • Lead community engagement, including responding to comments and messages in a timely, brand-aligned, and personable manner.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure alignment, maintain open communication, and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Proactively suggest and implement new strategies to improve engagement, reach, and overall social performance.
  • Identify and connect with influencers, partners, and relevant communities to expand brand visibility.
  • Support event and campaign activations, including trade shows and brand initiatives.
  • Track, analyze, and report on social media performance, providing actionable insights and continuous improvement recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in creating and managing high-performing social media content, particularly short-form video.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing and growing social media accounts.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative, engaging, and trend-relevant content (not template-heavy).
  • Deep understanding of current social media trends, viral formats, and platform algorithms.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling hooks and storytelling within short-form content.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Suite, Canva), with the ability to go beyond basic templates.
  • Highly receptive to feedback with the ability to adapt quickly and iterate on content.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Highly Regarded Skills & Experience:

  • Experience creating content for consumer-facing or fast-paced brands.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and performance optimization.
  • Experience with paid social advertising.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later).
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.).
