Job Overview

Our client is looking for a meticulous Takeoff Estimator to perform accurate quantity takeoffs for MEP and HVAC systems on small to medium-sized commercial construction projects. This role focuses on high-precision visual annotations and cross-referencing items against construction drawings to ensure a seamless project billing process. You will be responsible for producing supervisor-ready deliverables without the need for cost estimation, operating as a self-managed contributor in a remote environment.

Schedule

• Flexible during client business hours (Israel Time) (20 hours per week) 

Responsibilities

• Quantity Takeoffs: Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from construction drawings, focusing specifically on MEP and HVAC systems.
• Marked-up Drawings: Produce clearly annotated drawings with visual mark-ups that meet strict supervisor approval standards.
• Calculations: Prepare supporting Excel calculations for each line item, including detailed measurements and quantity summaries in metric units.
• Verification: Cross-reference Bill of Quantities (BOQ) items against construction drawings to ensure total completeness and accuracy.
• Organization: Organize all deliverables systematically by item number and section to facilitate streamlined project billing.
• Issue Flagging: Identify and flag any unclear or unidentifiable items for client review rather than making assumptions.

Requirements

• Proven experience performing quantity takeoffs on small to medium commercial construction projects.
• Hands-on experience with MEP systems, particularly HVAC components (dampers, ducts, diffusers, etc.).
• Proficiency in Planswift or equivalent takeoff software.
• Comfortable working in metric units.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce supervisor-ready deliverables.
• Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day guidance.

Scope & Engagement

• Initial focus on HVAC takeoffs (approximately 250 items across 15 drawings).
• Quantity-only takeoffs — no pricing or cost estimation required.
• Deliverables include marked-up drawing PDFs and Excel quantity calculations per item.
• Potential expansion into architectural, concrete, and other discipline takeoffs based on performance.
