Our client is looking for a Senior Xero Accountant to join their specialist healthcare recruitment business. Beyond recruitment, they manage the full financial lifecycle of every placement—from timesheets through to invoicing, reporting, and payments. This creates a high-volume, transaction-driven environment where finance plays a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Own balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accuracy
- Manage month-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management reports
- Support quarterly reporting and reconciliations
- Assist with tax compliance and statutory reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Business Reporting
- Prepare monthly sales reconciliations across business divisions
- Deliver performance reports to senior management
- Analyze results and provide clear commentary on trends and drivers
- Partner with operational teams on revenue, margin, and cost insights
Accounts Payable & Supplier Management
- Oversee AP function and ensure timely supplier payments
- Oversee doctor payments, including timesheet validation and payroll inputs
- Manage supplier queries and reconciliations
- Improve AP processes and strengthen controls
Management Accounting
- Prepare and analyze P&L across entities and divisions
- Perform variance analysis vs budget and prior periods
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with cash flow and working capital management
Leadership & Support
- Supervise and support an Accounts Officer
- Act as a key contact for accounting and reporting queries
- Drive process improvements across finance
- Support audits, system changes, and finance projects
Requirements
- 5+ years in financial or management accounting
- Proven experience managing month-end and reporting cycles
- Experience with Xero or similar systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong technical accounting skills and balance sheet ownership
- Experience in recruitment, healthcare, or services environment is a plus
- Exposure to multi-entity structures preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and reconciliations
- Ability to turn data into insights and communicate clearly with non-finance teams
- High integrity with financial data
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
