Job Overview

Our client is looking for a hybrid professional comfortable working across both design and costing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of operating in a fast-paced, efficiency-driven environment while balancing creativity with structure. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to deliver accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) aligned with standardized plans, improve costing turnaround time, and ensure seamless integration between design and cost.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standardized residential house plans
• Produce floor plans, elevations, and construction drawings
• Modify designs based on client customization requests
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for standard plans
• Update BOQs as designs are revised or modified
• Support the creation of fixed-cost baselines for each design
• Assist in improving speed and accuracy of project costing
• Help establish systems where plans and BOQs remain consistent and scalable
• Collaborate with the builder/director and admin team on design and documentation
• Translate sketches, notes, and conversations into structured outputs

Requirements

• Experience as a Draftsperson, Quantity Surveyor, or both
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods
• Experience with material take-offs and cost estimation
• Proficiency in Revit or similar drafting software
• Experience preparing BOQs or cost estimates
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Close attention to detail and accuracy

Tools & Systems

Revit is strongly preferred for drafting, along with estimation tools such as Excel or similar platforms. A solid understanding of construction costing principles is essential.
