Job Overview

Our client is a specialist consultancy firm dedicated to driving project success across the mining and resources sector. They provide high-value engineering solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle, partnering with major players in Gold, Lithium, and Iron Ore. As they expand to support a robust pipeline of debottlenecking projects and expansion studies moving into detailed design in 2026, they are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Lead Structural Engineer to deliver robust, compliant structural designs for brownfields and sustaining capital projects.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM AWST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 hours per week) 

Responsibilities

• Analysis & Design: Perform detailed structural design calculations for steelwork structures and concrete foundations using SpaceGass and advanced spreadsheets.
• Technical Modeling: Build and analyze complex structural assessment models; develop load case scenarios ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and client-specific requirements.
• Engineering Solutions: Collaborate with the design team to develop practical, innovative solutions for brownfield modifications and debottlenecking projects.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive calculation reports and engineering documentation for client submission, clearly outlining analysis results and design recommendations.
• Project Delivery: Assist in the technical delivery of ongoing projects, ensuring accuracy, timeline adherence, and alignment with project goals.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate, hands-on structural engineering experience (specifically in engineering design, not just drafting).
• Software Mastery: Mandatory, extensive hands-on experience with SpaceGass (building models, running analyses, and interpreting results independently).
• Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Standards Expertise: Strong working knowledge and application of current Australian Standards for structural design and concrete foundations.
• Technical Skills: Proven ability to perform steelwork and concrete calculations and advise on necessary design adjustments.

Qualifications

• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of collaboration with a Perth-based team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional integrity and a commitment to rigorous technical accuracy.
