Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Full-Cycle Accountant to join our accounting and tax firm. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping operations, including payroll. The ideal candidate will also have solid US tax preparation experience to support the team during tax season. This is largely a back-office role with minimal direct client interaction.
Work Schedule: 40hrs per week, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Pacific Time
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping (Primary)
- Perform full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end close
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements
- Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely payroll reporting
- Maintain organized and well-documented financial records
- Assist with financial reporting and internal documentation as needed
US Tax Support (Secondary — Busy Season)
- Prepare US individual tax returns (Form 1040) and business tax returns including S-Corps (1120-S), Partnerships (1065), and C-Corps (1120)
- Organize and review client-provided documents and supporting schedules
- Work within Proseries and/or Lacerte during tax season
- Coordinate with senior tax staff or partners on more complex returns
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with US bookkeeping and payroll
- Experience preparing US individual and business tax returns
- Prior experience working with US-based clients or accounting firms strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Proseries and/or Lacerte tax software
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online/Desktop or Xero
- Experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, Gusto, or similar
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles
- Solid understanding of US federal, state, and local tax filings including multi-state filing requirements
- Ability to handle detail-oriented, deadline-driven work accurately
Credentials
- CPA license is a plus but not required
- Relevant work experience will be prioritized over credentials
